Storybook Albums

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

All “storybook albums” are not created equal. One of the most important distinctions is between press-printed albums and albums constructed of real RA-4 photo prints. Press-printed books don’t use real photo prints, but rather use the same techniques one might find in a coffee table book. The print quality in such books is inferior to books made with real photo prints, and often the durability is lesser as well. All of the major consumer-marketed “storybooks” are press-printed.

For our storybook albums, it was crucial that we have a product that we believe is not only beautiful, but well-constructed and durable. The albums that we have selected are comprised of RA-4 prints on Fuji Crystal archive paper, which not only insures that the images are beautifully presented, but that they are reasonably resistant to finger prints and other contaminants. These pages can be gently wiped with a damp rag with no ill effects.

The pages themselves are thick boards that will never tear, and won’t even crease unless you’re intentionally trying to damage the book for some reason. The binding is tight and solid, and the cover is wrapped in luxurious Italian leather.

Jennifer & Ryan’s Wedding

Saturday, June 23rd, 2007

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away….

Well, sort of. In creating this website, I’ve had to dig way back into my past and create blog entries for weddings from years ago. My style has evolved, and its hard to remember many of the details, but I wanted to include some of my earlier work because A) there are still some nice pictures in those older weddings, and B) it gives you an idea of where I’ve come from over time. So here is a handful from one of my first weddings!
