Wednesday, September 24th, 2008Megan and Alex chose to have their engagement photos taken out on the family farm in Bowling Green, KY, near the spot where Alex proposed. I knew that I had to shoot some strong photos, because Megan is a designer and has supremely discriminating taste!

Amanda is my feisty better-half, and she’s a huge part of Evan Baines Photography even though she seldom picks up a camera. Amanda assists me with customer service, helps out with sales, designs our albums, and forces me to go to sleep when I’m still editing images at 3am (you don’t want bleary-eyed editing anyway). Amanda also frequently assists me in my portrait sessions, providing an extra eye for detail that lets no stray hair go unnoticed.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys exploring the world of wine and gastronomy with her husband, yoga, and torturing our two cats with hats of various shapes and sizes.
No, Amanda never gets tired of having her picture taken.

These image were selected for these honors from amongst a field of work by the most talented wedding photographers in the world. Thank you to Carrie and Autumn, who gave me the opportunity to take these beautiful bridal portraits. I couldn’t have done it without such beautiful and graceful subjects.

Sherri & Jason’s Wedding
Sunday, September 7th, 2008I’ll be honest with you: I’m a food geek. My brother is a big-shot chef up in Chicago, so I’ve almost always been around fancy food and fancy vino. So it’s pretty rare that I’m blown away by the food at a wedding, as catering a large event is pretty challenging for even a top-tier culinary talent. But I had some serious expectations for this wedding, as Jason was the chef/owner of (dearly departed) Radius 10 restaurant in Nashville. This event featured some of the most unbelievable wedding food I’ve ever experienced!
The wedding itself was held at Scarritt Bennett Center in downtown Nashville.

Autumn & Jesse’s Wedding
Saturday, September 6th, 2008Autumn always reminds me of a classic Hollywood leading lady: Elizabeth Taylor in her prime. Assumption Catholic Church in Nashville is also an amazing venue for a wedding: a photographer couldn’t ask for better material.
