Kelsey & Jonathan’s Wedding

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

As some of you may know, a few of my photographer friends from around the country and I set up a little second shooter exchange to get different perspectives on how we do our job. It’s a great experience to shoot with a photographer who I respect, and so see how they do things differently than I do. Anyway, this small sampling of images was taken while I was shooting a wedding down in Florida with my good friend Tony Schreiber. This was a challenging wedding, as the weather didn’t cooperate with the outdoor plans, and many details had to be rearranged on the fly. However, Kelsey and Jonathan were a wonderful couple to work with, and I think we did a great job for them. This is definitely one of my all-time favorite bouquet toss photos, because it really tells the whole story in just one shot.

As mentioned, this is a second-shooter set, and therefore is not as comprehensive as my normal coverage.

Amanda’s Bridal Portraits

Monday, October 20th, 2008

After shooting Amanda and Simon’s engagement photos, I was really excited to be taking bridal portraits for this beautiful lady! They were married at Scarritt Bennett Center, so that’s where she wanted her bridal portraits made. Thanks for a lovely session Amanda!

Michelle’s Bridal Portraits

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

For Michelle’s bridal portraits, we chose to shoot at the beautiful Ambrose House in East Nashville. I was particularly pleased with the shot of Michelle in the armchair, which to me evokes a classic society painted portrait.

Amy & Jamie’s Wedding

Saturday, October 18th, 2008

Amy and Jamie’s wedding was at the beautiful Pleasant Hill Mansion in the Governor’s Club community of Nashville. We had dramatic skies all day, which Daniel and I were sure to work into a number of the photos. I was particularly pleased with the group photos of Amy and her bridesmaids and family at the start of the day, as they were such a happy and spontaneous group.

Enjoy!

Michelle & Mike’s Engagement Session

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

Due to some issues with the makeup artist, this session turned into an impromptu night-session… but that was just fine with me as I had my trusty tripod and fast lenses handy! We shot this session in the greater Franklin area, and made use of some of the various interesting lighting opportunities in a downtown area at night! The last shot was a pseudo-studio shot in the couple’s living room: very newspaper friendly and I feel it reflects their personalities admirably!
