Kim & Eric’s Wedding

Sunday, September 25th, 2011

Kim and Eric were married a few weeks ago in her mother’s backyard in Bowling Green, KY. I am honored to have worked with a number of couples within this social circle, and you may recognize one of my previous brides in the wedding party.

Its a wonderful and special feeling for a photographer when you get the sense that a couple really “gets” your work. Kim & Eric, I am so glad you chose to work with me for your wedding. This is one of my favorite recent sets, and I hope you love these pictures even more than I do.

Technical note, since I get asked frequently: This wedding is mostly film with some digital mixed in. Cameras used include: Leica M6, Canon 1v, Mamiya 7, Mamiya RZ67, Canon 5DII, 5D. Films include both new Portra films, FP4+ and HP5+.

I believe in simple, honest portraits, like this one of Chip and his father.

Amy & Kurt’s Engagement Session

Sunday, September 11th, 2011

I was thrilled and flattered that my extremely talented friend Chuck Anerino referred his friends Kurt and Amy to me when they needed a wedding photographer. Recently, I traveled out to Philadelphia to shoot Kurt and Amy’s engagement photos, and to spend some time getting to know them. I discovered that Kurt and I share a love of the Boston Red Sox, and I think that this couple’s remarkable story about Red Sox memorabilia is one of the funniest things I’ve heard in a long time (inside joke). Thanks for a great session guys!

Personal Work

Sunday, September 11th, 2011

Not sure if this qualifies for How We Eat or not, but I was happy with the geometry of this shot. It was taken in a grocery store parking lot.
