SGT Easter

Another cool shoot I got to do in the current issue of GX Magazine featured ultra-marathon runner SGT Richard Easter. Usually, long-distance runners are super-lean (almost scrawny), but SGT Easter is not only competitive, but extremely ripped. I was thrilled to have the help of the talented Amy Lynn Larwig to provide some excellent sweat effects on this shoot!

Happy New Year from Evan Baines Photography!

2011 was quite a year, and we’re bracing for 2012 to shake things up even more.

I’ve been fortunate recently to have the opportunity to work with some real American heroes, such as this photo shoot for GX Magazine featuring Colonel Bill Badger. Col. Badger was an exceptional aviator in the National Guard, but is more famous for being the one of the first to respond during the Gabrielle Giffords shooting in Arizona. Despite the fact that he was already shot, he bravely helped to subdue the gunman and prevent further tragedy. For his heroism, Badger was awarded the Valley Forge Cross for Heroism, one of the most important peacetime awards in the military.

Thank you so much to Col. Badger, Laurel Petty, and Keith Kawasaki for this opportunity! Also huge thanks for the help from my good friend and brilliant photographer Spencer Boerup.

Courtney & Jon’s Engagement Session

I always enjoy working with my military couples: I always get a little nostalgic for back when I was in uniform, dating a beautiful redhead. Anyway, we had a fun session with Courtney & Jon, starting down in the gulch, then heading on to Sevier Park, and finally ending up at the delicious Las Paletas for dessert. I’m very much looking forward to your wedding guys!

Leah & Adam’s Wedding

Leah & Adam were married at the Village Chapel here in Nashville, with a reception at the Cellar One event space right on 1st Avenue. This day just seemed to fly by! I felt that Daniel did particularly excellent work on this set, with emotions running the full gamut. The details (particularly the cupcakes) were important here, as this couple is quite serious about their individually sized-desserts!

Stacy & Ryan’s Wedding

On October 30, 2004, my wife and I were married in Raleigh, NC. Nearly seven years to-the-day later I traveled back to Raleigh to document the wedding of another man from my old regiment to a beautiful woman. They even had dinner and drinks at the very place where we were married all those years ago… so I must say I felt a bit wistful as I shot this one. The last shot in this set was taken in the exact room that one of our favorite wedding photos was taken.

I was also thrilled to have my friend & brilliant wedding photographer Saad Syed there to provide his unique viewpoint.

Todd & Julie’s Portrait Session

Its always an honor when another photographer asks you to shoot for him. Todd is a talented wedding photographer in Kitchener, Ontario. Todd & Julie were on vacation from Canada, and Todd asked me to do an anniversary session as a surprise for Julie. We had a great time cavorting around in Chattanooga, and then a lovely dinner together afterward. Thanks so much for the opportunity to work with you both, and to get to know you! Hopefully we can get together again sometime!
