It was my honor and privilege to photograph the Bowman family for Foundations Magazine a few months back. This is an important story by Stephanie Inman on how this inspirational family dealt with the heartbreaking loss of Timothy Bowman to suicide after he returned from a tour of duty in Iraq. The manner in which they have coped, and used their story and experience to help other families is amazing. It was important to me that this photo of Tim’s father Mike reflect not only his loss, but his heroism.

It’s a beautiful shot: with heavy subject matter, it’s easy for the shots to seem heavy as well, but it seems hopeful and strong. Love it.

So glad that the Bowman’s story is getting out. Not only is it personal to me, it hits so close to home for so many others. They are inspiration to many. Love them all!

I came to know and love this family while our men were serving. Now they have become pioneers to bringing awareness not only to those closest to them, but to anyone and everyone this type of tragedy touches-military and otherwise. They are a true inspiration for sure! Love them all on a level only we can understand!

Evan, I truly am speechless, and most people kinow that is hard for me to do. I have seen the article, and the amazing pictures you took. You have an unbelievable ability to capture emotion with your camera that few people can. Your pictures are inspiring, expoecially the one with all three of us. And then the shot of Cassie is absolutely priceless.
