Kimmia & Brent’s Wedding

Monday, August 16th, 2010

Kimmia and Brent were married this past Saturday in a Persian ceremony at the Hutton Hotel, followed by a traditional Western ceremony at Scarritt Bennett Center’s Wrightman Chapel. Kimmia purchased her amazing dress at The Bride Room, and Stephanie Russell of Hair Mafia styled Kimmia’s hair. Kimmia and Brent had both an outstanding band: Band 24/7, and a solid DJ to keep the party rolling when the band wasn’t playing. Special thanks to the wonderful Gipsy Williams from Enchanted Brides for her help with the portraits!

After working with Kimmia three times now: her engagement session, bridal portraits, and now her wedding, I have to say that my favorite part of photographing her is that she’s not only beautiful but expressive. Kimmia’s happiness is infectious, and it translates marvelously well into documentary photography. But not only is Kimmia photogenic: her entire family are wonderful subjects: witness Daniel’s brilliant portrait of her father, Kimmia’s gorgeous mother and her two lovely gowns, or the numerous instances where her outgoing brother Nima appears in this series.

Obviously, this is a large set of photos… due in part to the extended nature of the coverage. Note that as usual, about 80% of these images are completely un-posed and documentary in nature.

You can register to see the entire wedding once I have it edited by registering at the link HERE.

Rebecca & Will’s Wedding

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Rebecca and Will were married at Wrightman Chapel at Scarritt Bennett Center this past Saturday, and I was honored to be present to document the festivities. Yes, the weather was a little bit inclement, but at least mother nature was kind enough to give us a window in the early evening to finally get the bridal portrait that Rebecca and her mother wanted, underneath the arch between Wrightman and Bennett Hall. The festivities were planned by H Three Events, Nashville Event Lighting illuminated the reception, and the cake was crafted by Classic Cakes of Brentwood.

Thank you for making me a part of your day guys!

Monday, April 26th, 2010

Rebecca was married this past Saturday at Scarritt Bennett Center here in downtown Nashville, so I’m finally able to post her beautiful bridal portraits that we executed both at Scarritt Bennett, and at my studio. I hope you’re enjoying your honeymoon Rebecca!

Alicia & Brian’s Wedding

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

Alicia & Brian were married at the Scarritt Bennett Center in Nashville, TN, and their reception was held at the Musician’s Hall of Fame. Its always a pleasure to shoot at Scarritt Bennett, one of the most beautiful venues here in town! Brian is a Marine, freshly home from the Middle East… thanks for your service brother!

I was ably assisted throughout the day by my friend Tom Cannon from Louisville, KY.

Alicia’s Bridal Portraits

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Alicia’s portraits were taken at Scarritt Bennett Center (where she was later married), and in my studio in downtown Nashville. I’m particularly pleased with the shot of her veil blowing in the wind in the studio: loosely inspired by Matthew Rolston’s portrait of Jessica Simpson.
